The neck was dented and nicked and I thought the finish was beyond saving so I had repainted it with black lacquer. I stole the DiMarzios out of it for a '72 Tele Deluxe clone I'm building and put in Epiphone '57 neck, and '58 bridge pickups. Almost invisible and the neck is a good tight solid fit. I didn't get any pics of the neck heel or neck pocket repairs, but basically small holes & super glue, bigger holes & dowels and carpenters glue took care of it. Here's a couple of pics of the Electra as it sits now, just waiting on a few more parts and then to get down to wiring, assembly and set up. If anyone is interested, pics will be coming. Really considering sanding it out and repainting and leaving it blank. I really hate the Electra script on the headstock, its the single horizontal script without the peace symbol.

Neck is now all black, needed refinishing and there was no way I could patch up or duplicate the original finish, so its black. Rosewood fretboard, mahogany bolt on neck, mahogany semi hollow body with one piece carved maple cap and maple back, burst finish, double bound, bound neck and bound open book headstock. I've ordered all cream plastic to go on it and will be rewiring with new pots and switch. Leveling and crowning was finished last night. Somebody had stripped the bolt neck threads out of the neck and in a fit of genius drilled 4 more holes under the neck plate, screwed and epoxied the neck in! I've finished repairing all that and the clear lacquer over black is curing on the neck. From the look of them, they might actually be original, or of the same age as the guitar. Got it home, tried to tune it (cracked nut) and plugged it in - sounds fantastic - took it apart and found a pair DiMarzio humbuckers clocking in around 9K. So far I've identified it as possibly an early one, 71 - '75.
